How do I roll the cube?

Swipe along the lawn in the direction you want the hedge to tip. Swipes follow the camera, so they always match what you see. Twist two fingers or use the turn keys to walk around the garden. You can also switch on the arrow roll pad in Settings.

Why did a tile not change when I rolled onto it?

Only carved faces press a clipping. A blank face leaves the tile as it was, and flagstones never take a clipping. The “Hedge faces” panel shows which face is underneath.

A tile I finished turned back to grass

That was a sprinkler. It fires every few rolls (see the “Spray in” counter) and washes the four tiles beside it back to wild grass. The tile under the cube stays dry.

How do stars and hints work?

Finish at or under par for three stars, and a few rolls over par still earns two. A hint shows the next good roll or tells you how many rolls to undo. Using a hint caps that garden at two stars, and replaying can always raise your best.

How do I open more estates?

Estates open with stars: Lindenhall at 18, Marrowgate Park at 45, Willowmere at 85 and Castle Ravenholt at 130. Inside an estate, finishing a garden opens the next one.

Daily plan and notifications

When does a new daily plan arrive?

A new plan is ready at midnight in your time zone. Finish plans on consecutive days to grow your streak.

I don’t get the morning notification

Photos and postcards

The camera or photo picker doesn’t work

Photographing your garden needs camera access: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Boxwood Roll. Choosing a photo uses the system picker and needs no extra permission. On devices without a camera, use Choose a photo.

Save to Photos says access is off

Allow Boxwood Roll to add photos: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Boxwood Roll → Add Photos Only.

Where are my postcards?

Every finished garden keeps one postcard, updated with your best run, in the Garden Journal. You can reach it from the home screen or Your Estate.

Progress and data

Is my progress backed up?

Everything stays on your device. It is included in your normal iPhone or iPad backup, and the app has no account or online sync.

How do I start over?

Settings → Progress → Reset progress removes gardens, stars, daily plans, ribbons and postcards. Your settings and estate photo stay.
